Hope’s Home Pitch Overview

Based on the discussion that we had yesterday and the needs identified, we would love the opportunity to work with the Hope’s Home Executive Team and on the ground leadership to assume full control the organization’s HR Department for a period of 6 - 12 months, while working towards the establishment of foundational policies, practices and systems to ensure organizational success for the future. We’ll work with you to create strategic, operational and developmental goals for the organization that builds capacity within the existing leadership team across all locations in the province, and establish a comprehensive people plan that meets the needs of Hope’s Home for today as well as the future.

proposed costs and timeline

proposed cost:

12 month contract 12X $8,000/month +GST - billed monthly

Our contract covers all consulting services required to build Hope’s Home’s Human Resources department from scratch, based on a full understanding and needs analysis of the organizational design and operational guidelines.

As discussed in our meeting, Affective Consulting will commit to an on-site presence one day per week, plus an additional 30 hours of work per week, to be completed by the Affective team off-site. We agree to attend any necessary team meetings as required, provide any necessary stake-holder reporting, and maintain a high level of accessibility and connection to the Hope’s Home team at all times.

Affective Consulting will also be willing to provide support to locations outside of the Regina area as part of our contract, at an agreed upon travel and expenses reimbursement schedule as outlined in the development of a formal contract upon acceptance of terms.

Our team is ready to start work when Hope’s Home is prepared to act. We can be on-site as early as next week if necessary.

action outline

There was much discussion at the table yesterday about a project outline and time table for the Free Agent Consulting Agreement, and to be perfectly honest, we don’t believe that we are in an appropriate position to provide Hope’s Home a project outline at this time. We simply don’t know enough about what is needed and when its required to build a proper timeline for you. However, we are more than willing to develop a project outline, and will commit to having one designed within two weeks of being on the ground if required to move forward.

However, based on the discussion yesterday, below are very high level initial first steps that we

Assume control of the HR department function.

We will take control of the HR function and communications from Nicole with appropriate hand-offs and communications to staff that Kevan, Cory and Mark are the HR Team moving forward and will address any and all HR related concerns for the organization.

Complete a full HR department audit

We have received a copy of the HR Functional Capacity Review, and are in agreement with the findings provided to Hope’s Home. We would like to also complete a full HR Programs and Process Audit, as well as conduct “pain points” discussions with key members of the team to establish a comprehensive understanding of what is needed to be implemented, and in what order of necessity to ensure that we are resolving operational issues as well as establishing appropriate protocols and processes for the future.

Establishment of a 12 month project plan

Based on this collection of information, we will be prepared to establish a 12 month project plan that will cover three core action streams - operational actions, strategic actions and team development actions.

These action items will be incorporated into an overall people plan, which will set the operational direction for the HR department for the next 1-3 years.
